When Verity Chasteen’s golden retriever goes missing, she prays to have her precious pet returned. She couldn’t be happier when “Gabby” finds her way back home. But Verity’s husband Daniel knows the real story behind Gabby’s disappearance and the impossibility that the dog in their home is really the same one that went missing days earlier.
Soon after Gabby’s return, the couple begins seeing differences in the dog’s behavior. It no longer needs food and water, and it has become aggressive toward Daniel. When supernatural beings begin to appear, the couple questions not only whether this is their dog—but something other than a dog altogether.
Verity looks to her faith for answers—believing that God will look over and protect them throughout whatever plan is in motion. Daniel, on the other hand, turns to alcohol as an escape and to drown his feelings of guilt.

Reading is educational, relaxing, exciting, and sometimes downright terrifying. The experience a reader has all comes down to the types of books or stories they choose. Books are the primary teaching tool for any type or level of education. They can also give you a means of escape from reality and provide a venue for experiences that you will never encounter in the real world. The latter are the books that I have enjoyed since I first learned to read.
I belong to the select group of people who love nothing more than being surprised or terrified by the unexpected in a book or movie. Those “gotcha” moments that bring you to the edge of your seat make sitting in the theater for two hours more than worthwhile.
